Born in Villeneuve sur Lot, France, Brageot took his first flying lesson at age 11, and by 21 he was named to his National Aerobatic team, the youngest pilot ever to represent France on the international stage and continues to earn medals and podiums at top national and international competitions.
2023 he honours his 15th season as a member of the French National Aerobatic Team, flying the Extra 330SC.
Mika broadened his passion for 4 dimensional freedom by joining the Challenger Class of the Red Bull Air Race with great success in 2014, taking the crown in 2015 and pioneering the Master Mentoring program the following year.
He entered the Masterclass in 2017 with a wealth of experience and confidence and during that season he collected 24 points and came 10th overall, a record for a rookie pilot in their first season at that time. His greatest airrace success, however, came in 2018 when he broke through for his maiden Final 4 appearance in Budapest, where he emerged with his landmark second place. Finishing 4th overall and having collected 42 points along the way it was another record breaking season. He is known for his natural ability to fly the racetrack and is the only pilot to compete flying the MXS-R race plane, which is a crowd favourite due to its monocoque carbon fibre body and spectacular ever changing liveries over the years.
