Born into a multi-generation aviation family, Emma McDonald has been surrounded by flying from an early age. She developed her career working alongside former world champion Matt Hall, supporting aviation operations and flying in airshows — experience that built a strong technical and professional foundation.

Her physical conditioning sets her apart. With a background in pole fitness, McDonald has developed exceptional core strength, flexibility, and body control — critical advantages in a sport where pilots are subjected to extreme G-forces. This ability allows her to maintain precision and control under the most demanding conditions.

In 2024, McDonald made history as the first female pilot in AIR RACE X, entering the series without traditional pylon racing experience. As a true AIR RACE X-native competitor, she represents the evolution of the sport and a new generation of racing pilots.

Her 2025 season tested that resilience. After a DNS in the opening round, McDonald fought back through the championship, ultimately finishing fifth overall — demonstrating her ability to adapt, recover, and compete under pressure.
